10 Essential Marvel Heroes Not Yet Used In The MCU

7. Spider-Woman

Marvel Wonder Man
Marvel Comics

Spider-Woman is one of those characters who never made a big splash when she was first introduced but has since gone on to earn a large fan following in recent years. There have been several women to claim the name, but the first and most likely to hop onto the big screen is Jessica Drew.

Interestingly, Spider-Woman is not as closely associated with Spider-Man as many believe. Because of this, she wasn't included in the deal when Marvel sold Spider-Man and his affiliated characters to Sony. She even had her own animated series in 1979 and made appearances on various cartoons and video games in the intervening years.

The growing interest in female-driven superhero franchises following the success of Wonder Woman and the development of Black Widow is laying the groundwork for a movie or television series starring Spider-Woman.

She may be best suited for the small screen thanks to the character's close association with HYDRA and S.H.I.E.L.D., both of which have played large roles on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. She may be just the sort of street-level superhero who would play well in a Netflix series, which is definitely a possibility given her growing popularity among fans from her ongoing solo book.
