Remember that awesome organization, the Nova Corps, which Marvel introduced in The Guardians of the Galaxy? It had Glen Close playing its leader, Irani Rael, those cool, interlocking ships, and of course, Nova, their greatest and most powerful hero! Oh, wait... as it turned out, Nova was not in Guardians of the Galaxy nor has he popped up in the MCU in any subsequent films.

There have been several theories online as to the reason behind Nova's absence, but most share a consensus that he would have overshadowed the Guardians in their own movie. Whatever their reasons for excluding him, there have been rumors he may show up following Infinity War.

James Gunn mentioned in a Facebook Q&A that he was planning on introducing a "real Nova" to the MCU. While Gunn has been fired from working on the next Guardians movie, his script may still end up in play for that film, though the end-credits scene from Guardians 2 suggests Adam Warlock may take center stage in the next installment, not Nova.

Nova has been a member of Marvel's New Warriors for years, but he isn't going to be in the TV series. This may suggest Marvel is saving him for something more...
