10 Essential Spider-Man Villains Not Yet Used In The Movies

Fans of everyone's favourite web-head have been clamouring for Kraven to make his cinematic debut for years. However, even Kraven's most strident supporters were shocked when Sony announced that the Sergei Kravinoff's first movie outing would see the hunter headlining his own film.

To quote Aaron Taylor Johnson, the man who will be donning Kraven's iconic lion's mane jacket, "You didn't see that coming?"

Kraven the Hunter is one of Spider-Man's most iconic villains for very good reason. Kraven's "The Last Hunt" storyline is still held as a watermark moment in comics, with the hunter's final "battle" against Spider-Man offering one of the most poignant, tragic denouments in the history of the medium.

Most adaptations of Kraven has fallen woefully short of the mark, with various video games and TV shows portraying Sergei Kravinoff as nothing more than an egomaniac with a Russian accent. If the 2023 movie manages to imbue Kraven the Hunter with the depths he's shown in the comics, he could become the next Thanos.

Or Sony might screw it up and Kraven will end up in the same bracket as Yellowjacket, Whiplash, Malekith and all the other bargain bucket Marvel movie villains. Word of advice Sony - don't turn him into a lion again...
