Much like Alistair Smythe, Felicia Hardy was another wasted character in the inaccurately titled The Amazing Spider Man 2. (There is an amazing Spider-Man 2, it's just not that one). Who the hell reimagines Black Cat as the PA of Harry sodding Osborn?
Felicia Hardy may have started life as a blatant Catwoman rip-off, but she's evolved into a great character in her own right. With a wealth of history and character development to draw on from the comics - she's been everything from Spidey's lover to one of his fiercest enemies - any adaptation of Black Cat has a lot of straw to spin into gold.
And for the most part, that's what's happened! From the tragically short-lived Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon to a whole host of video games, Felicia Hardy has been a regular highlight of any Spider-Man adaptation she's appeared in.
Put simply, Black Cat has already shown her worth in every other field of entertainment - it's time to let her shine on the silver screen as well.
