10 Most Exciting Films Premiering At Toronto Film Festival 2014
4. This Is Where I Leave You
What It's About: This dramatic comedy is about a group of four siblings who return to their dysfunctional childhood home after their father's death. While they're in town, they have to deal with their mother who has a complete lack of boundaries, and all of the other awkward past relationships that inevitably seem to flare up when returning home after a long time away. It stars Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, and Corey Stoll as the adult children (in more ways than one), and Jane Fonda as their mother. Why You Should Be Excited: You don't need us to tell you that nobody does dysfunctional family like Jason Bateman, and it looks like his consistently exasperated persona is given some much needed depth here. It's nice to see the underrated Corey Stoll and relative newcomer Adam Driver get a little bit of time on the big screen (before Driver goes on to probably play a bad guy in the new Star Wars films), and we always feel like Tina Fey works best in a larger ensemble.
