Sure, Channing Tatum and Jake Gyllenhall might have cut themselves up whilst filming their respective “our protagonist is a troubled man” mirror thumping scenes.

But their injuries pale in comparison to the bloodletting which Titanic hero Leonardo DiCaprio went through on the Django Unchained set. A method hero through and through, DiCaprio had already impressed prior to the 2012 film and continues to since with his commitment to each role.

But one scene in this Tarantino western really took the biscuit.

The actor slammed his hand into a glass accidentally where the script called for him to hit the table for emphasis, resulting in a bloody glass strewn palm which is seen in the film. That’s right, Tarantino opted to keep this take in, continuing to film as his actor began streaming blood and kept acting regardless.

Not that it was a first time occurrence for the director, as poor Troy heroine Diane Kruger was choked until she genuinely passed out on the set of Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds… By the director himself.
