10 Failed Movies That Should've Been TV Shows

Having the source material so close to his heart, it must have been a real slap in the face for Guillermo Del Toro that he didn't get to finish his Hellboy trilogy, and this is the best reboot they could come up with?

The movie was a colossal disaster on almost every level outside of David Harbour's lead performance and is one the year's most notorious failures both critically and commercially, holding a meager 17% on Rotten Tomatoes and failing to even crack $50m at the global box office. It would be safe to say we won't be seeing Big Red on the big screen anytime soon.

The success of Game of Thrones has brought fantasy TV into the mainstream in a big way, and in their search for the next big thing the networks could do worse than look at Mike Mignola's acclaimed comic book series. A series following Hellboy and the BPRD in a 'case of the week' procedural could definitely work, but adding in the supernatural elements would put a fresh coat of paint on a tired formula.

An action-heavy fantasy series about an apocalyptic demon that works for a classified government agency who battle the occult is one hell of a hook, and with the cinematic franchise as good as dead, what better time to take Hellboy to the small screen?

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
