10 Family Movies With Mind-Blowingly Questionable Morals

9. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

ratcher Another of Dahl's creations (he adapted the script from an Ian Fleming novel), this film is single handedly responsible for ruining the mental stability of an entire generation. Questioning the Iraq War? Blame this film. Concerned about the current economic situation? This film is at least partly at fault. Firstly we have the fact that two innocent children are fraternising with a washed-up former porn star who goes by the alias of Truly Scrumptious. Then we have the troubling character of Caractacus Pots, clearly a seriously disturbed individual who should not be allowed access to children. But put these two facts aside for a moment. Who in their right mind thought exposing children to a character like The Child Catcher would be a good idea? The clue is in his name - 'The Child Catcher'. The fact that parents allowed their children to watch this film is morally questionable in itself.
