10 Famous Directors You Didn't Know Had Really Weird Fetishes

4. Dario Argento Appears To Have A Penchant For Filming His Daughter In Weird Sexual Situations

Not that Dario Argento would probably admit to this being an actual fetish of his own, given the questionable subject matter, but still... it's not like he's been trying to hide his penchant for having his daughter naked, murdered and raped on the big screen (over and over). In the 1995 horror movie The Stendhal Syndrome, then, Argento includes a scene in which a cop - played by his own daughter Asia - is raped by the very serial killer that she's hunting down. Now, it's important to consider that Argento wrote and directed this movie; he cast Asia Argento in the role. Had it happened just the once, well, maybe you could declare it as something of an oversight. But it hasn't happened just once. Oh, no, no...
Two years previously, Argento included a scene in his 1993 flick Trauma in which a 16-year-old Asia Argento appears in the nude. And he repeated this awkward "trope" in 2007 when he wrote in a shower scene for his own offspring. Weirdly, Asia seems A-OK with all this. "In Phantom of the Opera, I lose my virginity in front of my father," she excitedly said a few years back, making reference to another one of their seriously odd collaborations. Like, why? Why would you purposely put yourself in a position in which you had to shoot a scene of this nature with your own daughter? It just makes no sense at all!
