10 Famous Movies That Would Have Been Better Off With Their First Choice Actors

1. Sylvester Stallone & Arnold Schwarzenegger - Face/Off

Oh, what we would have given to see this back in the day, huh? One of many projects the two action titans almost worked together on, Face/Off was one of the few that had been specifically written for them. And when you think about it, the movie has the perfect amount of cheese, violence, action and one-liners. With John Woo directing it, too? Well, it feels like a match made in heaven. Face/Off is an absolutely fantastic piece of action cinema regardless of Arnie and Stallone not appearing in it, but there's just a little part of us all who would've gone weak at the knees if they did actually make the film. It was unique because it offered the chance for the two leads to basically swap roles partway through the film, getting to play both the hero and villain at different points in the story. Script problems and budget issues meant this match never happened, and we had to wait another 15 years to see them delivering justice together in 2012's Expendables II. Apparently, after they dropped out, many actors were interested in the roles, including Jean-Claude Van Damme and Mickey Rourke, and Harrison Ford and Michael Douglas. Ultimately, we got Nicolas Cage and John Travolta, who do have brilliant fun with their roles. But think of what could have been, people. Like this article? Agree or disagree with the picks?
