10 Famous Movies That Would Have Been Better Off With Their First Choice Actors

2. Mel Gibson As Harvey "Two-Face" Dent - Batman Forever

Somewhat unbelievably, some actors were apparently fighting tooth and nail to be in Batman Forever. One of those actors was Mel Gibson, who wanted a role so badly that he turned up to director Joel Schumacher's house in full costume, make-up and all. Schumacher really wanted Gibson, too, thinking he'd be perfect as a crazy guy with a split personality (this was years before we found out he was like that in real life.) Anyone who's seen Lethal Weapon or Maverick knows that Gibson does crazy very, very well. Would he have been a good villain? You bet. We can confirm this after his performance in 2013's Machete Kills, where he was clearly having the time of his life, chewing scenery like it was going out of style. Unfortunately, when it came down to it, scheduling conflicts and Warner Bros .not wanting to pay Gibson's requested $15 million salary meant that the role went to Tommy Lee Jones, who is actually fantastic and also has a great time playing the bad guy. It did wonders for his career, too, landing him the role of K in Men in Black, a part which feels like it might've been written for him.
