10 Famous Movies That Ended Far Too Soon

4. The Grey (2011)

The GreyThe Grey was purposely marketed as a movie which pitted action mode Liam Neeson against hordes of CGI wolves, because that's a good way to get everybody in the world ever into theatres to see your movie. Alas, many were disappointed to find that they had been kind of duped by the promotional material - this was more of an existential survival movie, with a few CGI wolves thrown in. Still, in the movie's final moments, The Grey looks to be giving us exactly the climax we think we've been waiting the entire movie for: a freakin' wolf showdown. And what happens the moment Liam Neeson ties broken bottles to his knuckles and dares the alpha wolf to come at him? The movie ends. I don't know what sound reverberated around the theatre that you saw The Grey in when this happened, but in mine it was a collection of groans and sighs: "How could they do this to us?" It's arguable that the wolf fight wouldn't have lived up to our expectations anyway, and would'n't have really been in keeping with the movie that came before it, but screw all that... we paid for a wolf fight! Take 'im, Neeson!
