5. The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
The Dark Knight Rises has its equal share of naysayers and fans, all of whom are totally dedicated to slating or defending what they believe to be either the worst or best Batman movie in Christopher Nolan's epic trilogy. And everyone is entitled to their opinion. See how diplomatic that was? I'm not going to get into the overall quality of the movie here, but am I including it on this list because I think that - ultimately - given the span and the size of the story,
The Dark Knight Rises comes to a close far too quickly. I can't escape the feeling that it feels rushed. That's to say, once Bruce Wayne takes the bomb out to the bay and we're all left in a state of shock ("Oh My God! Is Batman
dead?"), the movie quickly throws in a funeral sequence and a couple of other moments where people are talking about how heroic Batman is, and then - once Alfred has spotted Bruce Wayne alive and well in Italy - the movie ends. But after what has been nearly seven hours of Nolan-inspired Batman adventures, it just seems to be over much too quickly. We don't get a chance to treasure the characters or say goodbye to this brilliant world. For all the movies flaws, I do wish Nolan would have taken his time to do
this part properly.
