10 Famous Movies That Genuinely Deserve Remakes

9. It

pennywise_the_clown The first time I saw Stephen King's "It" as a child, my family were on a summer holiday on Ireland's west coast. The morning after I saw the film, I woke up in my top bunk to find that my blanket had fallen off during the night and was lying on the floor. It must have taken me the guts of 30 minutes to pluck up the courage to climb down and retrieve my blanket. I kept picturing this demonic clown furiously lashing out at me from beneath the quilt. Don't we miss this kind of horror?

Sure, I was just a kid at the time, so an "It" remake probably won't have the same effect on me now that the original mini-series did back then, but it seems to me that horror has become more about ridiculously attractive people running from some laughable foe than about actually scaring audiences. The teen slashers have surely had their day. Of course, we're talking about remakes here, so I'm hardly being original, but given that "It" was about an inter-dimensional demon, in the form of a clown who preys on the fears of children, why wouldn't we want to give it the big budget make-over and another chance to shine?? SEND IN THE CLOWNS!!!

My life is simple. I write songs, sing in a band, act from time to time and I watch A LOT of movies and television shows. My preferred genres are Sci-Fi and Comedy. I decided to write for WhatCulture because my girlfriend (yes, I'm a sci-fi nerd and I have a girlfriend!) is sick of me ranting about films every time we leave a cinema. I do hope people enjoy reading my reviews, although I'm sure there will be many different opinions about every film I review. I respect everyone's right to their opinions so please feel free to comment and debate anything I write. Thanks for reading!
