Did you notice, too, that both characters are played by actors called Ryan? Although I've made it sound like these movies are exactly the same, even I'll admit that the final products are fairly different from one another.
Driver is like a western, wheras
Drive is a blockbuster/arthouse mash-up. That doesn't mean that
Drive isn't wholly reminiscent of
TheDriver for much of its runtime.
