10 Famous Unmade Comic Book Movies We WISH We Could Have Seen

7. Joe Carnahan's Daredevil

Superman Lives
Netflix

Daredevil may have been the star of his own show that ran for three hugely popular seasons on Netflix, but The Man Without Fear is still crying out for that definitive movie that will finally banish memories of Ben Affleck's ill-judged 2003 outing for good.

It seems inevitable that the character will eventually be rebooted once again and assimilated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but before the rights fell back into their hands Joe Carnahan had pitched Fox the idea of an violent and gritty R-rated trilogy that would have taken place in 1973, 1979 and 1985 respectively.

A filmmaker best known for his scuzzy genre efforts tackling the vigilante protector of Hell's Kitchen sounded like a match made in heaven, especially as Carnahan planned to cast Joel Edgerton as the title character and tie his movies into the social and political climate of New York at the time of each instalment.

Sadly, like many things the Smokin' Aces director attaches himself to, it never got past the idea stage.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
