10 Fan Theories That Completely Change The Harry Potter Movies
8. Voldemort Had A Different Master Plan In The Goblet Of Fire
To believe in this theory, you have to first acknowledge the inherent flaw in Voldemort's Goblet Of Fire plan. He spends so much time and energy, and takes frankly unnecessary risks in order to use Harry for his potion. The spell requires the blood of an enemy, but Voldemort could pull literally any wizard off the street and chances are they would consider themselves his enemy. So why Harry? Maybe it's because the reincarnation spell wasn't the only reason why he needed the boy wizar. It's possible that after he regained a physical form, he was going to use polyjuice potion to take on Harry's appearance and head back to Hogwarts under the guise of the Chosen One. Terrorism depends on the element of surprise, and what better way to really strike fear into the heart of the wizarding community than to infiltrate their hallowed hall of learning, looking like the Boy Who Lived and causing maximum carnage? Obviously, things didn't work out the way he planned; he wasn't expecting there to be a second victim in Cedric Diggory, and he certainly wasn't anticipating the Priori Incantatem effect caused by forcing twin wands to do battle. If he didn't have some other plan for Harry, it makes no sense that he would orchestrate such a foolhardy, over-complicated scheme with so much potential for failure. Voldemort has a vendetta against Harry, sure, but he's not stupid.
