Even though Captain Marvel takes place almost two decades before the events of Marvel's Infinity Saga, it was actually filmed after the latter story's concluding event - Avengers: Endgame.

Avengers: Infinity War and its follow-up were filmed back-to-back in the summer of 2017, while filming didn't commence on Captain Marvel until the start of 2018. No doubt this would've been an unusual scenario for Larson, who though familiar with the Captain Marvel script, would have to carry her experiences from the events of that film into Endgame, without even having interacted with the prequel's co-stars.

It's an odd situation, but one that'll be fascinating to see play out firsthand. Remember, these are two very different versions of the character that Larson has portrayed - one only at the cusp of understanding her potential in 1995, and the other having spent years in space getting to know her powers - so having to switch back and forth between them in such a short space of time couldn't have been easy.
