10 Femmes Fatales Who Would Tramp All Over Your Heart

10. Cleopatra - Cleopatra (1963)

Lavish, lengthy tale of the trials and tribulations of the legendary femme fatale Egyptian Queen Cleopatra, Elizabeth Taylor was certainly one of the most beautiful, if not, the most beautiful, woman in the world at the time of the film's release. She was also regarded as a tramp and homewrecker for her affair with Richard Burton. But in the film she impresses as a young Queen who seduces Caesar to enhance her political position and then falls head over heels in love with Marc Antony. Elizabeth Taylor, with the help of heavy make up which nearly ruins her exquisite looks, portrays Cleopatra throughout her life - adopting different facets of her character as the story goes on. Cleopatra is terrific femme fatale material. The Queen had to use her wiles and feminine attractions to maintain her position of power. She is one of the great seductresses of all time and Taylor is lucky to be supported by Richard Burton as a capable Marc Antony, as well as all of the other characters in the film. Sure it is a long and uneven film, but the legend of Cleopatra will always pique viewer's interests, she is such a notorious femme fatale.

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
