Universal PicturesHow could dragons not dominate the top of the list? Unlike our previous entry, we mean your common badass fire breathing dragon here. Of course, it'd have to be the benevolent kind. Think Draco in the 1996 movie Dragonheart (complete with Sean Connery voice) or the various dragons in the more recent How To Train Your Dragon. Just watch this and tell me it doesn't look like the best time of your life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68AqHwgk2s8 A good dragon is a loyal pet, a fierce protector and super wise all at the same time. How awesome would it be coming towards the end of a work day knowing you get to fly a dragon all the home? The traditional scaly fire breathing dragon beats out Falcor in our list because despite a lot of similarities, Falcor's wisdom always seemed a little antiquated. We can quite easily imagine any real dragon to be quite street wise quite quickly. Think about it: flies, check. Breathes fire, check. Vault of unparalleled knowledge and wisdom, check. Able to advise me on the best possible travel insurance for when we fly off to the Caribbean together? Double check. We imagine for all his worldly wisdom, Falcor would consider any type of insurance some sort of fruit and recommend giving it a try. Dragons then, are the adult fantasy pet for the modern age. And if you think by even saying that aloud, we've thought about this entirely too much, you'd be correct. Still, we'd like to see you say that to our dragon's face.
