10 Film Characters Who Inexplicably Shrugged Off Fatal Injuries

4. Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi €“ Princess Leia

Leia We€™re going to one of the film-logic classics now, otherwise known as the Stormtrooper Armoury. It€™s been established throughout the original Star Wars series that if you hit a stormtrooper with your average blaster laser, they€™re going down and won€™t get back up again. It doesn€™t really matter where you hit them, as long as you do €“ from arse to elbow, everything€™s a fatal shot and nobody gets back up again. However, the Star Wars universe bends its own logic when it comes to Princess Leia in Return of the Jedi, namely when she gets hit in the arm with a blaster. Yes, by regular standards it€™s not a mortal wound, but if we€™re going off past experience, even being hit with a laser is enough to worry you. I suppose the only case study we have for this is the Stormtroopers, but if anything, that just makes Leia€™s situation seem worse. After all, if you compare the two, the Princess isn€™t coming off well €“ Stormtroopers are literally bred for battle and wear good armour €“ Leia is a combatant with far less experience and far less armour. So if you€™re going to put money on who would survive a blast, it wouldn€™t be the plucky female, let€™s put it like that. However, Leia appears to shrug off her wound as it was barely a scratch before claiming it€™s not that bad, really. Just to make matters more confusing, she blows away two troopers with two blasts of her own, effectively flipping consistency the bird and establishing herself as some sort super-person. Just how the hell is she able to do that? To me, it€™s pretty confusing. She should be dead, or at least very badly hurt.
