The films: Kill Bill: Volumes 1 & 2 A woman who previously escaped a life with a gang of assassins after falling pregnant is hunted down on the day of her wedding rehearsal and all but killed by the jealous leader and father to her child. Four years later, she awakes from a coma and sets out to reap her revenge on the gang that betrayed her. A huge turn in genre for Quentin Tarantino, but arguably amongst his best work thanks to a love for martial arts shining throughout. The Character: The Bride The saying goes, 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned', and this is the jewel in the crown of female revenge characters. Armed with her Hattori Hanzo sword she slices through pretty much everyone who gets between her and Bill; the man who betrayed her. Finding out the fate of her unborn child drives her in a way that only a woman could understand, making her a very worthy entry. Her fight against the Crazy 88 is instantly identifiable as one of the most intense martial art fights of all time - resulting in an almost unprecedented amount of amputees. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3aFv8IQb4s
