10 Film Franchises You Really Should Stop Watching After The 2nd Movie

1. Terminator

Spider-Man 3
TriStar Pictures

No other series has suffered the same continued decline in quality than the poor Terminator franchise. What started as one of the greatest action franchises, has devolved into a parody of itself.

The original two James Cameron movies are action spectacles like no other. Both are expertly directed, and have proven to be immensely influential for future generations of filmmakers. The T-800 is now a staple of popular culture, and is the defining role of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s career.

But, after the departure of Cameron, the series has been steadily going downhill. The first attempt without him, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, plays out like a tired re-tread of the second, except with the addition of unwanted comedy.

Terminator Salvation, despite trying something new, was still not able to match the quality of the original two movies. Christian Bale ranting on set, and a bizzare CGI Arnold also didn’t help matters.

The less said about the farcical Terminator Genysis the better.

And finally, the latest installment, Terminator: Dark Fate, although miles better than the other sequels, proves that the series is officially out of gas. Even with Cameron returning as a writer, the Terminator wasn’t able to rise from the ashes of mediocre sequels.

Let's hope that this time, he won't be back.
