10 Film Scenes That Secretly Glamorised Drugs

1. Yellow Submarine

Drug: LSD As far as films that glamorise drugs go, this last entry really does take the biscuit. This 1968 animation truly epitomised the psychedelic movement of the 1960s. Starring the hallowed kings of psychedelia themselves - The Beatles - it featured an hour and a half of some of the most bizarre imagery to have hit the silver screen prior to Tim Burton. Though they openly deny it, the film of course concerns the band's experimentation with LSD. Indeed, there is no overt reference to the drug, though neither is there an obvious example of the film morally abhorring its use either. In actual fact, the moral of the film is seemingly obscured by the nonsensical nature of the plot; contributing to the glamorised portrayal of the drug. Basically, if a drug this potent can transcend a band such as The Beatles to the pinnacle of the music industry, then it mustn't be all that bad, surely?
