10 Film Scenes That Secretly Glamorised Drugs

2. Pulp Fiction

Drug: Heroin Alongside marijuana, heroin is seemingly the go-to drug for the film industry. Everybody is aware of it; everybody actively avoids it. It is a drug that so few in society have ever casually partook in, yet is so often explored through film. It does beg the question: how can the average cinemagoer truly connect with a substance they have no relative experience with? Having no doubt full knowledge of this unawareness, Quentin Tarantino decided to up the ante somewhat with his portrayal of Vincent Vega's use of the aforementioned drug in Pulp Fiction. Unlike previous entries in which heroin is featured, its use in Pulp Fiction is less devastating and catastrophic - Uma Thurman's death aside - but is much cooler. The scene in question: Vega's (John Travolta) injection when driving. The sheer casual nonchalance in which each piece of apparatus is utilised is enough to entice many a non-user; from the flicker of a lighter, to the slow influx of blood before the final injection.
