10 Film & TV Serial Killers We Can't Help But Love

6. Henry - Henry: The Portrait Of A Serial Killer

Henry is the only character on this list who is loosely based on a real person, with Henry: A Portrait of a Serial Killer drawing from the experiences of serial killer Henry Lee Lucas. It details a random killing spree throughout the Midwest, and tells the true crime story in the style of a horror film. At the center of the film, designed to appear as a grisly documentary, is Henry, played by Michael Rooker (best known for his work as Merle on The Walking Dead). He and his sidekick Otis travel around the greater Chicago area, killing indiscriminately but attempting to make the murders appear as random as possible -- having a different modus operandi for each crime would help them evade capture. Henry is hardly likeable, but the way that the film is made, on an incredibly low budget and with attempts to look as realistic as possible, makes his murderous antics incredibly engaging.
