Lets be frank for a moment here if Agrabah was a real place its people would be far happier under the rule of the sinister-yet-smart Jafar than the kind-yet-incompetent Sultan. Jafar may be a little rough round the edges but he is far better suited to rule the Kingdom than the bumbling Sultan. Indeed, under the Sultans diabolical rule people like Aladdin are forced to steal bread to survive while the guards under the employment of the abysmal ruler hunt them down rather than pursuing real criminals. Just take a look at the ridiculous palace he lives in while his people starve. Jafar may be evil but he cant be any worse than the Sultan. Over the course of the first Aladdin film it was impossible not to be charmed by the villainous charisma and dry humour Jafar brought to the table. We can hardly blame Jafar for becoming evil being the right hand man to such a woeful ruler would surely break anyone down over the years. It may be for personal gain but the iconic Disney villain is seemingly the only man willing to free Agrabah from the poisonous reign of the Sultan.
