Even though the entire world could see that another entry in the Home Alone franchise was a bad idea that was highly likely to backfire, Disney, apparently, could not. And thus, we have the 2021 disaster that was Home Sweet Home Alone.

The backlash against this movie started before it was even released, with its first trailer being dislike-bombed on YouTube. Things didn't improve when it hit Disney+ in November either, with Rotten Tomatoes' critical consensus simply reading "Nobody's Home", and outlets like Bleeding Cool calling it "one of the worst films ever made".

Ouch.

Addressing the hellfire that was raining down upon his movie, star Rob Delaney jumped to its defence, calling the script "gorgeous and hilarious", while also saying that he understood why people were upset about a Home Alone revival:

"It’s perfectly understandable to be terrified or angry that they are making a new Home Alone film - until you see it."

Well, we saw it Rob. And we're still angry. Because it was s**t.
