10 Films Where You Rooted For Killer Toys

7. The Mutant Toys (Toy Story)

Toy Story did a tremendous job of toying with the creativity and imaginations of children everywhere; but it also did a tremendous job of properly animating the type of meltdown any child would have if they were suddenly attacked by damaged army men or fishing poles with Barbie legs. Although they weren't considered "killer" toys, the Mutant Toys in the first Toy Story film were presented as "cannibals" (as stated by Woody) and depicted as monstrosities and murderous freaks of nature before it was revealed that they were the exact opposite of the "killer toy" archetype. Babyface, the doll head screwed onto the spider-like steel body, became the most iconic of the Mutant Toys (and probably one of the more memorable Toy Story characters despite his one film appearance). Other notable members of the Mutant Toys included Ducky (the duck pez dispenser on an action figure body), Legs (the aforementioned fishing pole with Barbie legs), and Roller Bob (the action figure torso attached to the front of a skateboard). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsusakRf7T8 Why You Rooted For Them: Growing up everyone knew that one child like Sid who was completely destructive towards their own belongings as well as everyone else's. Some of Sid's more unforgivable acts include beheading his sister's dolls and feeding one of the Pizza Planet aliens to his ferocious dog. Seeing Sid become traumatised at the hands of his own creations was satisfying and true-to-life hilarious.
