It remains Germany's greatest contribution to cinema and still the defining example of the enormously influential style of filmmaking known as German Expressionism. The film's director F.W. Murnau gave the world the quintessential movie monster with Count Orlok and set the template for all horror and suspense films that followed Nosferatu. My favorite movies are Before Sunrise, Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and Her so don't be surprised to see those pop up in my writing from time to time. I'm currently in school for Journalism/English and I have an obsession with all things cinematic on the side.
