10 Films That Should Have Never Flopped At The Box Office

1. The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen (1988)

url-1Budget: $46.63 million Box Office: $8,083,123 Cult film maker Terry Gilliam made his name back in the early '70s as part of Monty Python's Flying Circus. Since then, Gilliam has become one of the world's most beloved creative minds with highly imaginative and unique films like few others. In 1988 Gilliam would release The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, a film that would round out his Imagination Trilogy (the other two films being Time Bandits and Brazil). Despite critical praise Munchausen failed to show profit upon its theatrical run. Production problems lead to shoots running longer than accepted which ultimately lead to more money being spent. Making matters worse, Columbia Pictures (the intended distributor) was in the process of being bought out by Sony Pictures. But the final slap came when the film was completed. A measly 117 prints were made of the final film to be distributed throughout North American, giving it little to no chance of succeeding at the box office. If there was ever any film that didn't deserve to flop, it was this little gem. Like this list? Agree or disagree? Let us know in the comments section below.
