6. The Nutcracker In 3D (2010)
One of the biggest box office bombs in history, Andrei Konchalovsky's loose adaptation of the titular ballet had apparently been the director's dream project for over 20 years, and surely he wouldn't have even bothered if he knew how awful it would turn out to be. Boasting terrible visuals, cheap-looking sets and some questionable Nazi allegories, this sorry excuse for cinema earned just $16m at the box office against a budget of $90m. Strangely deciding to almost completely ignore the source material, The Nutcracker 3D was shot in 2007 and spent years on the shelf as Konchalovsky attempted in vain to polish this turd. The acting is as blatantly wooden as the surroundings, the CGI is bargain-basement for such an expensive production and the script is laughably bad, not to mention a 3D post-conversion that makes Clash of the Titans look like Avatar by comparison. This attempt at crafting a fantasy Christmas movie went very, very wrong indeed.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
