8. The Amazing Spider Man
Release Dates: July 3rd (US) and (UK)

When I first heard that Spider-Man was being rebooted, I was absolutely crestfallen. "Why does a successful, current film franchise need to be rebooted merely 5 years later?" I initially asked myself. Having Andrew Garfield, of The Social Network fame, play Peter Parker/Spider Man also irked me beyond belief. At least Tobey Maguire could pull off being nerdy; all the released pictures of Garfield hanging out as the "cool guy" and without nerd glasses was just infuriating. And then I saw the trailer. If the movie is half as good as the trailer, I would be very, VERY okay with this movie being made and continuing on for sequels. While I still think it is too soon for another Spider-Man franchise, I am willing to look past that and try to embrace Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man.
7. Brave

Release date: June 22 (US) and August 17th (UK) After the heaping pile of crap that was Cars 2, Pixar really needed to step up its game. When your movie can't even get an Oscar nomination in the Oscar category that was created specifically for you, you know that something needs to change. Brave, the coming-of-age story of a female archer from a royal family in feudal Scotland looks like a great rebound from Cars 2, and looks like a sure-fire bet to be around come Awards season.
