6. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
Release date: June 20th (UK) and June 22nd (US)
The tag-line released by 20th Century Fox about this movie is enough to have me foaming at the mouth to see it: "President Lincoln's mother was killed by a supernatural creature, which fuels his passion to crush vampires and their slave-owning helpers." Being a huge history junkie and a self-proclaimed vampire hater ever since the vampire explosion in pop culture in the past 5 years, this movie mixes two of my favorite elements; American history and vampire killing. Even if this movie actually turns out to be terrible, I still believe it will be money well spent to get a few (who am I kidding? A LOT) of laughs because of this movie.
5. The Bourne Legacy
Release Date: August 3rd (US) and August 13th (UK)
Jason Bourne is the modern-day James Bond (sorry Daniel Craig). And when this film promises to give us an anti-hero that is even MORE bad-ass than Jason Bourne, I get excited. Jeremy Renner plays an agent coming out of Operation Outcome, which is described as "Treadstone without the inconsistencies." Which means that Renner will actually be fighting off people who know what they are doing. Add in one of my favorite characters from the original trilogy, Pamela Landy (played by Joan Allen) and August 3 can't come soon enough for me.
