10 Films Unfairly Rated R

7. Planes, Trains, And Automobiles

planes-trains-and-automobilesNo rating description Arguably one of the most absurd rationalizations for labeling a film R exists right here. Planes, Trains. and Automobiles is a relatively lax comedy in terms of content that sees Steve Martin on a trip home for Thanksgiving dinner sidekicked by the legendary John Candy. Steve Martin suffers a mental breakdown at a rental car exchange setting him off on a furiousvtirade of F bombs. Aside from being hailed as the most hilarious scene in the entire movie, it's hard to imagine an edited version of the scene. I'm sure one exists, I have just never watched the movie on television. To be exact, it€™s 19 F bombs within a two minute frame but in a 90 something minute film, it€™s the only time the F word is uttered. How ridiculous? Without that scene you could make a case for PG let alone PG-13; a common trait between many of the films selected for this list. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is just another case of one scene highlighted to determine a rating instead of gauging the content of the film as a whole.
