10 Films We Said We Wanted But Didn't Go See

2. Justice League

Justice League was a decade in the making and was expected to be the biggest financial success of the DCEU. Ironically, it was the least successful film in the franchise.

So, what happened? The short answer is 'everything'. Even though Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman received mixed reviews, there were millions of Snyder fans who were dying to see the long-awaited Justice League.

But when the director's daughter passed away, Snyder stepped down in mid-production. Joss Whedon took over directorial duties and did his best to have the film ready for its release date. The schedule was so tight, the producers strongly considered delaying the film. Just to add to the chaos, Whedon cut entire scenes, rewrote dialogue, drastically altered the tone, reworked character designs, and replaced the composer.

After it became common knowledge that Justice League was going to be a completely different film than the one Snyder envisioned, DC fans had no passion to see it. After receiving lukewarm reviews and the fact that it was competition against the highly praised Thor: Ragnarok, Justice League bombed spectacularly.
