10 Films With Awesome Animated TV Shows You Forgot Existed

6. Godzilla: The Series

The nineties seemed to have a strange infatuation with film-to-animation adaptions, because seriously, would anyone expect Godzilla to get a cartoon show today? Not that the OG series was bad or anything, but still, recalling all these shows feels a little odd when you consider the current onscreen lineup for Cartoon Network these days, and of course, the total lack of Fox Kids on anywhere even resembling a TV guide.

Godzilla was a fun show though. It featured all the characters from the comically poor 1998 film starring Mathew Broderick, and some actors from the film even reprised their roles as well. Kevin Dunn, for instance, returned as Major Hicks, and despite the fact the '98 film failed to really capture the essence of Zilla's onscreen confrontations with the various Kaiju of the world, the series endeavours to avoid making the same mistake. Instead, it focuses completely on the lizard's battles with giant reptiles, insects, mammals, and cybernetic monsters.

It was everything the film should've been, really, and remains a fun interpretation of Toho's classic monster that everyone can enjoy in all its monster-y.
