10 Films With Awesome Animated TV Shows You Forgot Existed

5. Beetlejuice

Beetlejuice was one of the best films of the eighties, so it only makes sense that it would get an animated show, right?

As a gothic comedy Beetlejuice was always going to contain some macabre imagery, and despite protestations to the contrary, the cartoon show largely embodied that legacy. Beetlejuice himself retained his ghoulish complexion, and the intro, as seen above, featured a cacophony of creative imagery to cement the show as a staple of Saturday-morning fixtures. Danny Elfman even constructed a variation of the Beetlejuice theme for the show, represented wonderfully in the series' opening titles - an opening that advertises the series' inherent zaniness without apology.

A constant stream of zany imagery from start to finish, Beetlejuice's TV supplement embodied the spirit of the Burton classic with its abstract art style, one that ensured that the veritable king of the Neitherworld retained a presence long after the credits rolled on the 1988 Burton classic.
