10 Films You Didn't Know Were Banned For Stupid Reasons

7. Zack And Miri Make A Porno Banned In Asia For Fear Of Copycat Teens (Oh And In Utah Too)

Zack-and-Miri-Make-a-Porno Lets face it, Kevin Smith is well past his prime. I've never been a huge fan of his but even I can tell that with every new release, he is fading faster than knock-off Chinese firework. But like the trooper he is, he keeps trying and his 2008 ''comedy,'' Zack and Miri Make a Porno, was released to a fanfare of mixed to average reviews. But that didn't stop it from falling foul off the censors. In the film, long-time friends and roommates Zack (Seth Rogen) and Miri (Elizabeth Banks) do what many have been resorted to doing in the post credit crunch world when they can't pay the bills and that is turn to porn. In order to make money, they decided to make a dirty home video but this being a Kevin Smith rom-com, they fall in love and that solves all their issues. Had they done their research, they would have found out that it is actually quite hard to make money from one amateur porno and the best thing would have been to set up a website. But in Trinidad and Tobago, Malaysia and Thailand, it was banned because authorities were worried that teens may watch the film and decide to copy the antics of Rogen and Banks. Clearly they have yet to find out that teens are doing a lot worse on the internet, just click the 'Amateur' tab. But before you start thinking that only happens in lands far away, the American state of Utah also banned it for the same reasons.
