10 Films You Only Ever Remember Seeing The Trailer For

4. Crawl

In August of last year, alligator disaster movie Crawl hit cinemas, produced by Sam Raimi. The trailer gained a large view count as audiences were promised a selection of jump scares and tense scenes that included the giant creatures.

There were many factors that prevented the movie from succeeding. In the opening weekend, the film was released during the same time frame as a Hurricane in Louisiana, causing cinemas to shut in the area, along with worry from the producers that the main narrative would be too similar to the real events.

The film was overshadowed by the popular releases of the same season as well, including Spider-man: Far From Home and Toy Story 4, meaning it did not perform as well as predicted at the box office.

There were a selection of mixed reviews as the horror trickled out on to the mainstream and people started to remember it existed, as some claimed the narrative was too thin to support a full film.
