7. John Lithgow
Here we have arrived at John Lithgow. John is an actor who's range is just undeniable. Any guy that can play an alien trying to fit in to a human body on 3rd Rock From The Sun and then make a believable serial killer on Dexter deserves some props. Lithgow is another actor who has been placed in a few movies in the past few years (This Is 40, The Campaign, New Years Eve) that you probably didn't even notice he was in. Is this really the way to treat an actor of his caliber? John Lithgow won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of psychotic serial killer Arthur Mitchell on the Showtime series Dexter and with damn good reason. If you have never watched Dexter or if you have no interest in watching Dexter just take a few hours out of your life to watch season 4 and you will be completely sold. Since season 4 the show hasn't been able to reach the same epic level that it did that year and that is thanks mostly to John Lithgow. Certainly it is a blessing and a curse to Dexter as a series but it is a testament to what this man is capable of. A role like Arthur Mitchell in a big production film could be exactly what John Lithgow needs. This man is an accomplished actor but I can't help but feel like the mainstream doesn't really recognize that. Lithgow like many other actors on this list has a few movies coming out in the next few years that are sure to be absolute crap. One more great role could do a lot to cement John Lithgow's legacy.
