10 Forgotten Horror Movie Scream Queens
3. Linda Blair
Although primarily known for starring in The Exorcist, Linda Blair continued working in the realm of horror long after that breakout role. With over 10 genre appearances to her name, she evolved from playing innocent victims to a proper established Scream Queen.
In 1978, Blair's first job after her career was derailed by a narcotics arrest was the television movie Summer of Fear. Here she is directed by the legendary Wes Craven and plays a teen struggling to convince her family that their lodger is in fact a witch.
No longer being offered plum roles, Blair became somewhat of a B-movie star after this. 1981's Hell Night is a delightfully Gothic slasher wherein Blair finds herself the final girl pursued around a rambling old mansion. From the producers of Halloween, this classy flick is among the best the 80s has to offer.
1984's Savage Streets sees her don a leather catsuit and take bloody revenge on the men that raped her sister, and the actress delights in a more sinister turn. So much so we can forgive her for hamming it up slightly.
Although her roles through the nineties were less notable, of course we can't forget her self-deprecating turn in 1993's Repossessed and her cameo in 1996's Scream.
Speaking of epic cameos, Blair's last piece of genre work came in 2006 with guest role on Supernatural with Jensen Ackles mentioning his peculiar craving for pea soup after meeting Blair.
Given her legacy, we'd love to see this underrated Scream Queen return in a big way.
