10 Formerly Great Film Roles That Are Horribly Awkward Today
6. Jeffery Jones Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Considering the fact he is playing a school teacher chasing a truant student, it makes for horribly awkward viewing when you find out that in 2003, Jones was arrested for possession of child pornography and accused of soliciting a 14-year-old boy to pose for pornographic photographs. Jones pleaded no contest to a felony charge and served a punishment of five years' probation, counselling and the requirement to sign the sex offenders list. Subsequently, he was arrested twice for failing to update his sex offender status. The most cringeworthy aspect of Jones actions and how it affects Ferris Bueller's Day Off is the very fact that Jeffery Jones is the best part of the whole film. If you are, for some strange reason, a fan of Ferris himself, then there is probably something wrong with you. Not only is he content in wrecking his best friends' lives, he is also the most detestable character to ever break the fourth wall. If you didn't know the above about Jeffery Jones, you would be quickly forgiven for enjoying his performance and seeking out more information about the man. After finding the information out on Wikipedia or IMDb, you may then feel terribly guilty for having enjoyed a performance in which Jones spends his time chasing an underage boy, considering the new found knowledge you've obtained about his out-of-work activities.
