10 Fourth Movies That Ruined A Great Trilogy

Much like Alien earlier on in this list, the third Terminator film Rise of the Machines isn't as good as the two that came before it.

To give it some credit, the first two Terminators are excellent. One is a slow-paced, tense pseudo-horror whilst the other is one of the greatest action films of all time. How do you top that?

Rise of the Machines did alright at following up the drama and stunts of Terminator 2, serving its purpose of getting series to the point of Judgment Day.

That's the day in which the machines take over the Earth, not the biblical thing.

A bleak end to the trilogy then, but this was very much in keeping with the franchise. What wasn't in keeping with the franchise though was the release of a rubbish fourth movie six years later.

Terminator: Salvation strayed about as far from the original three movies as humanly (or robotically) possible. It was set during the war between man and machine, following Christian Bale's version of John Connor.

Salvation is your run-of-the-mill war movie with no heart and nothing to make it interesting. Worst of all, it's not got Arnie in it! What is even the point?
