10 French Horror Movies You Need To See

1. Inside

Infamous for being that movie about a pregnant lady attacked by another woman trying to steal her unborn baby, Inside is a nasty little film about the lengths a mother will go to survive, all wrapped up with a lovely home-invasion bow.

Considering it's Christmas Eve, it's a bit of a shock to see santa's aggressive, scissor-wielding female counterpart breaking in instead of the jolly man himself, and there's definitely better presents to be receiving than bodily mutilation.

Directors Julien Maury and Andre Bustillo have had their hands in more than one title on this list, defining the meaning of French horror over the years with increasingly disgusting visuals and nail-biting sequences.

Inside plays out one cut at a time, and will keep you on the edge of your seat - or behind it, depending on your tolerance of household equipment being stuck into people's bodies.
