10 Funniest Harry Potter Characters
3. Mr Weasley
Arthur Weasley was impossible not to like. His kind-hearted nature and his childlike fixation with muggles made him instantly loveable.
First introduced in The Chamber of Secrets, his obsession with muggles was immediatley apparent when he showed great enthusiasm upon hearing of his sons’ adventures in his flying Ford Anglia, though he quickly changed tack following his wife’s look of disapproval.
His muggle-obsessed antics only continued throughout Rowling’s novels. At the Quidditch World Cup, his understanding of muggle money was remarkably poor, and his attempt to light the campfire with matches was nothing short of disastrous.
As for the movies, the fifth entry in the franchise gave Mark Williams a great opportunity for some physical comedy. In a brief but entertaining scene, Mr Weasley found himself baffled by the London Underground, and only managed to get through it with Harry’s help.
Given Mr Wealsey’s comedic value, it is unsurprising that many of his children were amongst the funniest characters in the series as well.
