1. The Flower Shop Scene - The Room
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=kOdjtiOMGbA Far and away the funniest scene from an awful movie is The Room's flower shop scene. It also serves as an example of how not to film a scene, as it is chock full of baffling errors during its brief 42 seconds run-time. The scene itself is relatively unimportant as Tommy is merely dropping in to purchase flowers. And when I say dropping in, I mean literally dropping in as the purchase takes 17 seconds, which makes it probably the fastest flower purchase ever. The dialogue only contributes to the scene's bizarreness. The shop owner says that Tommy is her favorite customer and yet she doesn't recognise him, a surprising fact considering he looks like Ozzy Osbourne and has a completely ambiguous accent. Tommy also compliments the dog for no reason and he holds the flowers upside down when leaving. The same flowers that the shop owner had reserved behind the counter even though she didn't know Tommy was coming. All the dialogue in the scene is spoken with zero emotion and at an impossibly fast speed. This is not just a one-scene fluke either, because the rest of the film is filled with terrible dialogue and impossibly bad character motivation. The Room was originally marketed as a romantic drama, however the critical backlash led to director Tommy Wiseau retroactively classifying it as a black comedy. Not even that excuse can redeem The Room, and now perhaps the solace that Wiseau can have about his disaster is that it's considered among the worst films ever made.
