10 Gaping Movie Plot Holes You Probably Never Noticed

4. Careless Recruitment (Fast & Furious 6)

Letty You might think that complaining about a lack of logic in the Fast & Furious franchise is as pointless as wondering who stole all the "The"s from the titles, but Fast & Furious 6 went too far, and it needs to be held accountable. Aside from the general lack of care shown to the laws of physics, or the hilarious decision to make Paul Walker endure a ridiculous plot thread involving a prison break to discover crucial information that Vin Diesel then incidentally discovers in conversation, the biggest plot hole relates to Michelle Rodriguez. In an infuriatingly dumb move, it is revealed that rather than dying in Fast & Furious 4, Rodriguez instead got amnesia when her car was exploded (that is about all the explanation you'll get for that medical marvel) and she's been living under the impression that she's someone entirely different (despite using the same name, oddly.) Given that she's a former undercover agent, working on behalf of the police to infiltrate a criminal gang, and the first rule of movie amnesia is that contact with anyone you ever knew in your former life will immediately fix previously irreparable brain injuries, it seems slightly careless that Luke Evans' criminal mastermind would employ her as part of his gang. He was initially sent by Braga to finish her off, but unfeasibly had a change of heart and employed her instead, despite his boss identifying her as a prime target. Now, that's careless. You'd be forgiven for missing this one, since the whole film encourages you to do so on purpose, as otherwise it falls to tiny, illogical pieces.
