10 Genius Ways Movies Fixed Their Own Mistakes

2. James Franco's Head Injury Was Concealed With A Headband - Pineapple Express

One of the most distinctive visual aspects of Seth Rogen's cult stoner action-comedy is the headband worn by drug dealer Saul Silver (James Franco) in the second half of the movie.

This was less an aesthetic choice than it was a practical necessity, however, after shooting an earlier sequence where Saul runs into a tree resulted in Franco accidentally running into a screw on the prop tree, cutting his head and requiring him to receive stitches.

In order to cover up the injury, Saul randomly acquires a headband, and because it seems like a natural enough adornment for the character, the audience doesn't really think too much of it.

It was certainly the smarter practical decision than using concealer make-up or - gasp - CGI, though.
