10 Genuine On-Screen Acting Injuries You Probably Missed
6. Jackie Chan Injury Kept In For Laughs
Chan's commitment to stunts is legendary - the diminutive actor could probably make a career for himself on the after dinner speaking circuit if he ever chooses to stop acting, where he could regale his audiences with an injury map of his body. Over the course of his career, Chan has damaged his spine, dislocated his pelvis, and had countless "minor" injuries to his face and head, all of which were used as a marketing aid to his film Raising Dragon, for which a poster was made charting all of the actor's boo-boos... In Rumble In The Bronx, one such injury, which is included right at the bottom of the poster above, was captured on film, and while that cut wasn't used for the film, since it culminated int he actor understandably rolling around on the floor clutching at a broken bone, it did make it in front of audiences in a different way. While attempting to jump onto a moving hovercraft, Chan broke his ankle, when it buckled under him. Like the trooper he is, Chan continued filming, with a sock painted to look like a shoe over his cast, and to give the audience a bit of a laugh, the director decided to keep the accident in the end credits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dlJeFuegMY The blooper reel that plays under the credits is basically just a collection dedicated to Chan hurting himself, which now seems to be an actual hobby.
